The Peanut Factory Lofts

Originally built for the B. Martinez and Sons’ Tamalina Milling Company around 1912, the Birdsong Peanut Factory was a main fixture on the near West Side of downtown on South Frio Street for over 50 years until its closing and vacancy.  The Peanut Factory building is poised to be revitalized and transformed into 23 lofts in addition to the construction of 15 townhome-style apartments and a three-story, 64 unit, apartment building.

The five-story industrial building will be converted into loft space, with the concrete storage silos receiving new windows and openings.  With its presence and historic character, the renovated Peanut Factory building will serve as an icon of the neighborhood and provide its residents with unique living spaces and distinct views of the surrounding area.

The project is the first Inner City Reinvestment Infill Policy (ICRIP) market-rate multi-family development in San Antonio's westside community, with close proximity to San Antonio's downtown and UTSA's downtown campus.
